From a perspective of humble detachment, the human species is no better than ants. What we consider to be our greatness is merely our habit of accumulating and elaborating upon external objects.
From the perspective of nature, human beings are Earth’s wayward children. Animals are content to take what is provided by nature and give back everything.
From this perspective, humans are far inferior to our biological peers.

The mind has a fascinating ability to separate itself from everything around it. In order to maintain that illusion it must give its isolated self a illusory line called this is me.
